Lamour Black protective varnish by Charbonnel is a specialized liquid product designed for graphic techniques, especially for etching and aquatint. Its main task is to effectively protect the back and edges of the engraving plate from the aggressive action of acid during the etching process. In its composition it contains asphalt and turpentine, and the dry extract makes up 25% of the product. The varnish is characterized by a glossy and opaque finish, while providing exceptional resistance to etching acids. For optimum results, the product should be applied to a fully degreased and cold plate surface with a soft, flexible brush.
