inseed oil is the classic, most popular medium used in oil painting. Designed to dilute too dense ink consistency, increases luminosity and colour saturation. Thanks to the use of oil in combination with paints, brush marks are brushed away, it is easier to achieve smooth transition between colours.

It is a slightly volatile solvent and, compared to balsamic turpentine, is slightly weaker but also toxic and harmful to health.
