A thick, white paste used only in layering and texture techniques. Lighter than the classic acrylic paste - the same volume weighs approximately half as much. The volume medium can be mixed with acrylic paints and tempera in the required amounts. Added in small portions, it slightly weakens the color, but significantly increases the coverage, which allows you to save paint. The substance obtained by mixing paint with a volumetric medium is very plastic and allows you to achieve excellent relief effects. It can be applied directly to the substrate and then painted. The surface obtained by applying one layer of this medium is porous and very absorbent, perfectly accepting the paint. It can even be painted with water-based paints, which gives an extraordinary result: a combination of the transparency of water-based paints with a paste texture. The volumetric medium is so neutral that when dry, it is identical to the substrate and can also be painted with oil paints. Of course - as a water emulsion - it cannot be mixed with oil paint alone. The extreme lightness of the product is due to the use of microscopic, hollow glass spheres. A layer approximately 2 mm thick will dry within an hour. Increasing the thickness will extend the drying time. The completely dry product creates a strongly adherent surface. This effect is irreversible.
Composition: acrylic resin in water emulsion, light fillers, thickener, stabilizers.
The special composition of this medium ensures that no cracks appear as the surface of the painting dries. The putty is the perfect tool to apply this versatile product. A few minutes after application, the surface is semi-dry and cured: it can be shaped with sharp tools, combs, etc.
