Winton series paints have a slightly thicker consistency compared to Artists' Oil Colour, which translates into their excellent properties when applied with both brush and spatula. The colors have a two- or three-star rating on the lightfastness scale, which guarantees that their color intensity will be maintained for at least 100 years in museum conditions. When dry, the paints leave a glossy finish, with differences in gloss levels between colors more subtle than in other series. The pigments used in the production, while more economical, provide the same covering power and color intensity as more expensive counterparts, including cadmiums and cobalts.
